Our Edinburgh reviewer Natasha Corfield stops by Stuart McCluskey's Little Capo.
Little Capo is the talk of the town. This exciting venture by Stuart McCluskey opened its doors in Edinburgh’s New Town this November, branding itself as Italian-ish.
From the outside, the terracotta façade and ambient lighting immediately catches the eye. Step inside, and you’re greeted by a cosy, intimate space meticulously designed with retro art and a vibrant orange palette. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.
The menu is headed up with Italian classics featuring a Bellini, Shakerato, various Spritz serves, an Amaro sour and an impressive selection of vermouths.
The Negroni Sbagliato Bianco is a standout, with smoked rosemary enhancing its sweet bitterness. Even better when paired with the deliciously moreish beef shin ragu.
I also couldn’t resist the Spritz Framboise with strawberry wine, bianco vermouth and raspberry lambic (sublime). Little Capo is a vibrant addition to the Edinburgh food and drink scene – there’s a reason why it’s packed on a Wednesday night shortly after opening.
