Sebb's

CLASS' Glasgow reviewer Mark Murphy drops in on Sebb's.

Sebb’s, standing for Sixty Eight Basement Bar, is the baby brother to Margo upstairs, the newest venture from the team behind The Ox & Finch and Ka Pao restaurants in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

Sebb’s has more of a bar feel, a nostalgic eighties one, with Wimpy-chic tables and vinyl on display for the DJs who play Thursday to Sunday nights; however food is also available and recommended – eclectic small plates covering world cuisine.

It was busy when we visited and due to the low vaulted ceiling, the voices of other customers fi lled the air. The cocktail menu features eight classics and 10 of their own creations.

We ordered a White Linen, which was fresh and full of yuzu flavour with a hint of absinthe, while the Miller Street Slipper had a sherbet melon and sour lemon fl avour reminiscent of childhood sweets. Both were refreshing and under a tenner so the rest of the menu warrants further investigation.

SCORE: 9/10
