Bacardi Legacy

Bacardi Legacy will take place in June, the rum company has announced.

Originally scheduled for May 2020 but postponed due to the pandemic, last year’s would-be competitors will challenge for the 2021 global title via a virtual contest.

The competition returns with the addition of the El Coco grant – named after the tree planted outside the first Bacardi distillery in Cuba - which will fund each competitor’s time spent developing a plan or idea to help the industry’s recovery.

Each 2020 global Legacy competitor will have the chance to submit their project idea and receive $5,000 in order to develop their idea.

The finalists - representing 43 markets - will once again compete to create the next “legacy” cocktail, with the final taking place on June 30.
