Stray founder Fran Cruse

In celebration of International Women’s Day, Stray has launched a menu with each of the ten cocktails created by one of Manchester’s leading female bartenders, owners and operators.

From 4 – 10 March the 10 cocktails will be available at Stray for £12 each, 20% of the takings will be donated to 42nd Street’s Women’s Group, a local charity for young people requiring mental health or emotional support.

“On a recent trip to Mexico City we were struck by the number of women who owned, ran and worked in the top bars in the city,” said Fran Cruse, founder of Stray.

“Manchester has so many incredible females in the industry however we couldn’t help but feel their presence here is a little less prominent.

“With that in mind, we thought we’d use International Women’s Day to work with women and brands across the city who we know and love to create a menu that champions their skill and passion.”

The menu features a drink created by Cruse, Olive Juice, made with olive oil-washed vodka, a vermouth blend, black olive and umami, and Hushed Tone created by Liza Kholodna of Schofield’s and sees blanco tequila mixed with dry vermouth, fino sherry, passion fruit, bitters and absinthe.

Other drinks have been created by Ava Plottu of Erst, Ellen Roberts of Stray, Deana Ferguson of Red Light, Gabriela Casado of Blinker, Eve Cairns of Hawksmoor, Natasha Lynskey of The Jane Eyre, Becky Davis founder of Pod Pea Vodka, and Manjari Kesavan of 10 Tib Lane.

Stray’s International Women’s Day menu will be available in the bar from 4 – 10 March.
