Scarfes Bar at Rosewood London has partnered with English whisky distillery The Lakes to launch a limited-edition single malt to celebrate the bar’s ten-year anniversary.

The Whiskymaker’s Edition Decadence has been matured in American and European oak Oloroso seasoned casks and American bourbon barrels.

The whisky has been created using The Lakes’ signature élevage process, an active maturation concept developed in Cognac where spirit is regularly tasted and transferred between casks to create a specific flavour profile.

“It has been a privilege to work with Martin and the team as they commemorate 10 years of Scarfes Bar and we wanted to create a whisky that not only reflected its luxurious surroundings but is best shared, shaken or stirred with good friends,” said The Lakes’ Whiskymaker, Sarah Burgess.

“A festival of flavour, Decadence is perfect in a cocktail, with dessert, or as a digestif on its own. However, you choose to savour it, we hope you enjoy every drop.”

To mark the bar’s ten-year anniversary, the number ten bottle will be signed by the bar’s namesake Gerald Scarfe and auctioned off ten days prior to 10 October, with all proceeds donated to Equal Measures UK.

“We are honoured to embark on this journey with The Lakes Distillery as we commemorate the momentous ten-year anniversary of Scarfes Bar,” said Martin Siska, area director of bars at Rosewood London.

“It has been an extraordinary experience to create this exquisite, limited-edition bottle, which symbolises the significance of this milestone. Working alongside The Lakes team has been a pleasure, and we look forward to continuing our partnership together in the future.”

The Whiskymaker’s Editions Decadence is limited to 402 bottles available to purchase for £250 from 10 October on Rosewood London’s website as well as being available in the bar.
