Class' reviewer for the North, Dave Marsland, has been in Stockport for the opening of Bohemian Arts Club.
A contemporary cocktail bar fronted by Katie & Tom Ogden – the latter being the lead singer of Manchester band Blossoms – has made its way into conversation lately as it joins the revival of Stockport’s hospitality scene.
Tucked away on Coopers Brow in Stockport’s Underbanks, this hidden gem is a small and narrow space, but utilises the two floors well.
Striped seating opposite the mirrored walls and ceiling, combined with small podium marble tables with chrome brushed lights gives a sense of minimalism on a grand scale.
With the bar headed up by Will Flower, the serves blend well into the vision of bohemia, albeit playing it a little on the safe side – perhaps for the local customer base.
The team, knowledgeable and warm, have more gears though. On first visit, a promising start.
