CLASS' Scotland-based reviewer Blythe Robertson heads to Glasgow to try out one of its latest launches.

Jumping aboard the reinvigorated aperitivo trend, Malo opened at the end of last year in a spacious basement on Bothwell Street.

The scale of the place doesn’t lack ambition across a 120-seater venue with a wine list featuring a similarly numerous range of bottles.

Central to the mixed-drink offering is a Negroni menu featuring an extensive list of variations on the popular classic.

Drinks are delivered in fine style. In a similar way to recent Edinburgh addition Bittersweet, it feels open and welcoming to a broad crowd, but at the same time offering enough cocktail craft for the drinks aficionado.

SCORE: 7/10
