This award recognises the venue that offers delicious food which complements the drinks and enhances the bar experience – no bar does that better than Tayer + Elementary in London’s Old Street.


Here at Monica Berg and Alex Kratena’s venue, the food is made from humble ingredients, harnessed intelligently to form a shifting feast that complements the bar’s seasonal menu.

Though dishes move in and out, there are a few favourites, such as the sec oyster with Mojo sauce. Skewers, poppers and croquets are also common listings, providing structure and consistency to the menu, while the recent vegan addition, Korean fried caulifl ower, has been a huge hit.

People come for the drinks at Tayer + Elementary and stay for the food.
