The William Grant & Son’s Advocacy team is bringing back its fabled 1887 Collective for its 7th year. For those in the know, the excitement is no doubt already brewing!

However, for those that are drawing a blank, allow us to shed light on the fantastic opportunity ahead…. but first off, let's get to the facts:

Why is it called the 1887 Collective?

1887 is the significant year that William Grant fulfilled his lifelong dream to build his own distillery (the Glenfiddich Distillery) with the very first drop of spirit falling from the copper stills on the 25th of December 1887, the beginning of what we now know as William Grant & Sons. To honour that innovation and creation that William Grant planted all those years ago this collective was created, and the namesake was born to continue that vision and inspire a new generation of creatives.

What is the 1887 Collective?

1887 Collective is the inclusive, exclusive community for bartenders brought to you by William Grant & Sons - a yearly portfolio programme supporting the rising stars of our industry and next generation of up-and-coming bartenders.

1887 Collective members are selected for their ambitions, innovative and diverse talents and bring them together far and wide from across the UK for a blend of immersive brand experiences, once in a lifetime distillery trips, talks, seminars and mentorship from our industry and beyond, to elevate our collective talents further.

It is an exclusive and inclusive yearlong advocacy platform designed to inspire and spotlight those budding, brilliant green minds in the wonderful hospitality industry.

In the past the nominees had been hand selected by the William Grant & Sons advocacy team, but this year will be a little different.   This year the team will be opening 3 exclusive places in the collective as voted for by hospitality industry nomination.

Who are they looking for?  This year the William Grant & Sons team are seeking the next generation of bartenders, the up and comers and rising stars of our industry who seek to thrive within the community. They should be people destined to grow, are a true advocate for the wonderful bar trade and possess endless passion for creativity.

They must be at least 18 years of age and work within the restaurant or bar industry.
